The website of PCINU Turki, the special branch of Nahdlatul Ulama for the Indonesian diaspora in Türkiye: its history, vision, leadership, wings and institutions in Indonesian, English and Turkish, and a newsroom the branch runs itself. I built it solo, front end to admin, from May to July 2026.
The challenge
A branch with members across Türkiye needed one public face for Indonesians, for English readers and for its Turkish hosts, and a way to publish its own news without waiting on a developer.
The approach
A Next.js site with a route per language and every page's copy kept in Indonesian, English and Turkish message files, plus a newsroom on Postgres behind an admin panel: a rich-text editor for articles, categories, drafts that go live when published, and cover images uploaded from the admin.
Key decisions
- Copy lives in one message file per language, so a translation never touches a component
- The login lockout is shared through the database, so it holds on every server instance
- Cover uploads are limited to trusted hosts, and abandoned uploads are reclaimed
- Error pages are localized too, with a sitemap and robots file for search
